Canon : Top Level of Film SLR Camera
The first-generation was released in 1971. The New F1 coming out 10 years later. Released as a full-fledged professional model, their top level SLR camera was a response to the offerings from Nikon, their chief rival from the 1960s through to the 1980s. It offers the robustness and reliability required by to meet the needs of a pro photographer in any setting. A matte black finish gives it singular charm.
- Hybrid shutter
A mechanical design, the shutter can operate without the need for batteries. To facilitate low-speed accuracy for any setting under 1/125s, the complex hybrid design switches to electronic control. A high-cost titanium curtain guarantees at least 100,000 operations and had a speed double that of the standard F-1 for improved shutter accuracy at high speeds.
- Trusted by professionals
High-level reliability isn’t just about dustproofing, or water and temperature resistance. Even if the battery dies mid-shot, it still has to function as a camera. Incorporating a complex hybrid shutter and enabling both mechanical and electronic operation, it’s a deliberate choice of a more technically difficult, yet much more robust solution.
- The satisfaction of using a top-level film camera
Along with Nikon, Canon, as a world-leading camera maker, delivers an unsurpassed experience with the F-1. The feeling of satisfaction from simply holding it, winding the film, and pressing the shutter switch is simply indescribable. It instantly transports you to the golden age of the film camera, and age it helped create alongside Nikon’s F2 and F3.
